The 2017 Bucks Fever FilmFest Competition is a screenwriting competition for short films only, open to all screenwriters native born or currently residing in the Greater Delaware Valley. While there are no restrictions on the genre of the screenplay, entrants must submit their entry in one of three categories: High School Screenwriter, College Screenwriter, or Emerging Screenwriter. Scripts are to be judged by successful producers, writers and actors with Bucks County connections for strength of plot, character development, originality, overall quality and potential visual interest.

Screenwriters may submit their screenplays at any time before September 1, 2017. Late entries will not be accepted.

The finalist(s) of the Screenwriting Competition will be announced at the FilmFest’s Awards Night Reception, Thursday, October 5, 2017 and the winner(s) at the screening of all winning short films at the County Theater on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

First Place:   A creative one-on-one consultation that may be used in any way that best serves the writer’s pleasure – to brainstorm and explore new ideas or to examine past, present or future projects provided by The PlayCrafters Group. Lunch with a local Professional Screenwriter.
