The CompetitionDownload the entry form here. Screenwriters may submit their screenplays at any time before September 6, 2013. The application fee for Emerging Screenwriters will be waived if the script is received before Friday, August 9, 2013. Late entries will not be accepted. The finalist(s) of the Screenwriting Competition will be announced at the FilmFest’s Awards Night Reception, Friday, October 4, 2013 and the winner(s) at the screening of all winning short films at the County Theater on October 13, 2013. Prizes for the authors of winning Scripts include $100 cash for both High School and College categories and a behind-the scenes tour of Sun Center Studios, Pennsylvania’s first purpose built studio dedicated to service the production of major feature films and episodic television programs, located in Aston, Delaware County, PA. The winner of the Emerging category will also have the opportunity to join the Sun Center Studios’ Tour, will receive a copy of the Final Draft 8 software and shall be invited to have breakfast or lunch with one or more of the judges for script mentoring. Rules and GuidelinesSubmissions must be in English, 12 point courier font, and properly formatted according to film industry standards. Only one submission per author. Submissions may be no longer than 15 pages in length and the body pages must be numbered. Multiple authorship is acceptable; however, there will be only one First Draft 8 prize (if applicable). Screenplays must be the sole and original work of the author(s) and the burden of obtaining copyright or otherwise protecting any proprietary interests in the Scripts rests entirely with the authors. Only the final draft of the work should be submitted. Do not submit multiple drafts. Hard copies or electronic PDFs of all scripts are required on or before the deadline date. |
